Backgammon Rules

Starting the game

The first player to sit at the table is responsible from creating the game. He/She decides what kind of game (points/straight cash) will be played at the table, as well as the amount of bet or the amount of games needed in order to win.

Joining a game

Any player may join a game that has been set up as long as there is an empty seat at the table, at which time they will be presented with the set of rules that their opponent has set up. Once they agree to the rules, game will begin.

Leaving a Game

You may leave a table if the game has not started or if you have not yet agreed to the table rules. If the person setting up the game leaves at this time, the game ends and a new game with a new set of rules will need to be set up. Once the game has started, it is only possible to leave the game once it ends or once a player concedes. If a player goes offline, the game will wait for them to log back on until the Global Timer reaches 0; once the global timer of the player ends, the game is lost.

Game Rules

The starting player is determined by a single dice roll. Unlike other backgammon games, Turkish backgammon requires the winner of the single dice roll to roll the dice again in order to make a backgammon move. Once the player accepts, the turn will pass to the other player. If a move is not possible, the ''''accept'''' button will appear and the turn will pass again to the opponent. There are 2 timers in the game:

Turn Timer: This timer starts with the turn of the player and is 30 seconds. The player has to end the turn before the timer reaches 0.

Global Timer: Each Player has 120 seconds of global time. This timer only starts when the turn timer reaches 0. Unlike the Turn Timer, the Global Timer does not restart from 120 seconds. If a player has not made a move within the time allowed in the Turn Timer, He/She will start spending his Global Timer. Once his timer reaches 0, the player will lose the game.

A player must play a move if it is possible. If the system determines that there are no moves possible, then the ''''accept'''' button will appear and the turn will pass to the opponent. You may always take back a move providing you have not pressed ''''accept'''' to end your turn.
If a player has 1 point left to finish the match, then it is not possible for his opponent to use the double cube to double the game.

Losing the Game

A player may end the game at any time by conceding. In order for a player to use the concede button, a mininmum of 10 moves must be made by both players. A conceding player will determine the points (or money) he concedes (simple game, Gammon) by asking his opponent. The opponent may decline the request if he/she believes a higher point game can be won. If a conceding player has collected any chips from the board from the game, the choice will not be asked to his opponent and the player will have conceded 1 point, multiplied by doubling cube, if any doubles have been made.

Doubling

You may double the game when it is your turn to attempt to win more cash/points. A player must use the double dice before rolling the dice at the start of his/her turn. If the opponent rejects the double offer, he/she concedes the game.
Doubling will effect cash on single games and points on match games. You can not double or accept an offer to double more than the money you have at the start of the game when sitting at the table.

Moving the Chips

You may drag the chips or single left click on them to move them. If a move is not possible, the chip will not move. You can see the possible moves by looking at the green/red indicators along the chip''''s trajectory.

Winning Points

There are different points according to different types of game.

Match Games: The player setting the rules will indicate at how many points the game will end. Once a player reached that point, he/she wins the money of the match.

Single Games: If the player has set up the rules for a single game, the winner wins the bet multiplied by the amount on the double cube and the game result (single, Gammon). The money lost can not exceed the money that you have in your account at the start of the game. A single game will win 1 points and a Gammon is 2 points. Turkish backgammon does not allow players to Backgammon (3 points)  during the game.

Throwing Players out of the game

The player who sets up the table in the beginning may throw out other players from his/her table before the game starts. A player that has been thrown out will not be able to enter the game during the entire duration of the game. Players are advised to be courteous to each other and only use this button with due reason, such as another player harrasing them.

Intentional / Unintentional Logging Out

Unfortunately the system can not differentiate between failures in the internet or players logging out intentionally. Players are responsible from ending the current game, whatever the outcome. Once the player leaves during the game, he/she may relog before the global timer reaches 0. If the player is unable to log back into the game before the timer reaches 0, the system will calculate his status before the logging out. If the player has collected chips, it will be a 1 point game. If he has collected no chips at the time logged out, the system will award 2 points to the opponent online. During matches, if the player fails to log on, that player will concede to the whole match.
